S.H.Figuarts – Madara Uchiha -Legend of Darkness-

Description

The S.H.Figuarts Madara Uchiha -Legend of Darkness- (officially titled A Legend of Solitude Dwelling in Deep Darkness) is a completely updated release by Bandai Tamashii Nations. Redesigned from the original 2017 figure, this version recreates Madara as he appeared during the Fourth Shinobi World War with upgraded sculpting, modern articulation engineering, and dynamic effect accessories.

Detailed Overview

This release captures the menacing presence of the Uchiha clan leader as he fights the Allied Shinobi Forces. Upgraded shoulder joints and flexible waist segmenting allow Madara to achieve extreme battle poses without armor plates clashing, solving movement restrictions present in older releases. The red armor plates feature matte shading paired with dark navy robes, capturing his anime-accurate appearance directly from Naruto: Shippuden.

Madara Uchiha was the legendary co-founder of the Hidden Leaf Village (Konohagakure) and the undisputed leader of the Uchiha Clan during the Warring States Period. Born into an era of endless bloodshed, Madara’s tragic life was shaped by loss, idealistic dreams, profound betrayal, and a desperate descent into darkness to bring about what he believed was ultimate peace.

1. Childhood in the Warring States Period & Loss of Kin

Madara grew up during the brutal Warring States Period—an era before ninja villages existed, where clans were hired as mercenary forces and children were sent to the front lines as soldiers.

• The Loss of Brothers: As one of five sons born to Tajima Uchiha, Madara watched three of his brothers die in battles against rival clans, leaving only himself and his youngest brother, Izuna Uchiha.

• Secret Friendship with Hashirama: While skipping stones at a riverbank, Madara met a boy named Hashirama of the rival Senju Clan. Keeping their surnames secret—as revealing clan names meant instant execution—the two bonded over their shared trauma of losing family to war. Together, they envisioned a peaceful future where children wouldn’t have to die on the battlefield: a unified settlement where rival clans could live together in harmony.

2. Clan Rivalry & Awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan

The secret friendship ended abruptly when their fathers, Tajima Uchiha and Butsuma Senju, discovered the relationship and set a deadly trap at the river. Realizing their families intended to kill each other, Madara and Hashirama warned one another to run.

Overwhelmed by the painful realization that peace was impossible and that his friend was a Senju, Madara severed his bonds with Hashirama. The intense emotional anguish triggered the awakening of his Sharingan.

For years, Madara and Hashirama fought repeatedly as the new leaders of their respective clans. During a pivotal battle, Tobirama Senju (Hashirama’s brother) fatally wounded Izuna Uchiha. On his deathbed, Izuna bequeathed his eyes to Madara, granting Madara the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan—a power that granted him complete mastery over the Perfect Susanoo while curing the blindness caused by standard Mangekyō usage.

3. The Founding of Konohagakure & The Great Betrayal

Grieving his last remaining brother and defeated in combat by Hashirama, Madara offered Hashirama a final choice: either kill himself or kill Tobirama to prove his sincerity. When Hashirama prepared to take his own life without hesitation, Madara stopped him, moved by his dedication.

• Building the Village: The Uchiha and Senju declared a truce and built the Hidden Leaf Village (Konohagakure), fulfilling their childhood dream. Hashirama named the village, while Madara gave the title Hokage to its leader.

• Ideological Fracture: Madara hoped to become the First Hokage to protect the Uchiha, but the villagers and the clan council overwhelmingly favored Hashirama. Furthermore, Tobirama’s open distrust of the Uchiha convinced Madara that his clan would eventually be marginalized and destroyed.

• Abandoning the Clan: When Madara warned his clan about their future subjugation and urged them to leave the village, the Uchiha accused him of being power-hungry and seeking to reignite war. Disillusioned and abandoned by his own people, Madara left Konohagakure behind.

4. The Stone Tablet, Valley of the End, & The Eye of the Moon

In his isolation, Madara studied the Uchiha Stone Tablet handed down through generations (unaware that it had been altered by Black Zetsu to manipulate the Uchiha line). Misinterpreting the text, Madara became convinced that true peace could never be achieved in the real world due to the inherent nature of human hatred.

• The Valley of the End: Madara returned to Konohagakure controlling the Nine-Tailed Fox (Kurama) to challenge Hashirama in a world-shattering duel. Hashirama ultimately drove a sword through Madara’s back, seemingly killing him to protect the village.

• The Secret Survival: Madara had programmed a delayed technique—Izanagi—within his eye prior to the battle. Rewriting his death after Hashirama left his body, Madara escaped into the shadows. During the fight, he had bitten off a piece of Hashirama’s flesh and grafted it into his own wounds.

• Awakening the Rinnegan & Obito: Decades later, near the end of his natural life, the combination of Senju and Uchiha DNA caused Madara to awaken the legendary Rinnegan. He cultivated the Gedo Statue, created Zetsu, and transplanted his eyes into a young Nagato (Pain). Before passing away from old age, Madara orchestrated the corruption of Obito Uchiha, passing on his name and legacy to execute the Eye of the Moon Plan (Infinite Tsukuyomi) and trap humanity in an eternal, peaceful dream world.

📦 Collectible Figure Connection
