Description
The LPZZ – Batman: Arkham Knight – Arkham Knight (Jason Todd) is a third-party 1/12 scale figure (approx. 6.3 inches / 16 cm) engineered as a direct companion to LPZZ’s Deathstroke. In the Rocksteady Arkhamverse (Batman: Arkham Knight), the origin of Red Hood—originally Jason Todd—is a dark, tragic tale of psychological manipulation, trauma, and ultimate redemption. Unlike the traditional comic book origin where Jason dies and is resurrected via the Lazarus Pit, the Arkham continuity grounds his arc in torture, survivor’s guilt, and radicalization.
1. From Street Orphan to the Second Robin
Jason Todd was raised in the impoverished, crime-ridden slums of Gotham City by a drug-addicted mother and a petty criminal father. Following his mother’s death and his father’s imprisonment, Jason survived by committing petty theft.
His life changed when Bruce Wayne caught him stealing the tires off the Batmobile in Crime Alley. Recognizing his raw drive, grit, and street smarts, Bruce adopted Jason and trained him as the second Robin to succeed Dick Grayson. However, Jason possessed a volatile temper, reckless streak, and deep authority issues, often defying Batman’s direct orders and feeling like an underappreciated assistant rather than an equal partner.
2. Capture and the Joker’s Psychological Torture
During a solo mission tracking the Joker to an abandoned wing of Arkham Asylum, Jason walked into an ambush. Captured and tied to a chair, Jason was subjected to over a year of psychological torture and physical abuse by the Joker and Harley Quinn:
-
The Illusion of Abandonment: Joker systematically broke Jason’s spirit by convincing him that Batman had moved on. He showed Jason a photograph of Bruce alongside the new Robin, Tim Drake, leading Jason to believe his mentor had replaced and abandoned him.
-
The “J” Branding: The Joker permanently branded the letter “J” onto Jason’s left cheek as a cruel mark of ownership.
-
The Faked Execution: To break Batman, the Joker staged a video showing himself shooting Jason in the chest. Unbeknownst to Batman, Jason survived the shot due to his Robin suit’s reinforced body armor. Believing his sidekick was dead, Batman ceased the search, inadvertently confirming the Joker’s lies in Jason’s twisted mind.
3. The Birth of the Arkham Knight
Eventually escaping or being released from Arkham following the Joker’s death, a thoroughly radicalized Jason burned with a desire for vengeance against Bruce Wayne. Partnering with industrialist mercenary Deathstroke and Scarecrow, Jason used his insider knowledge of Batman’s tactics, armor specs, and combat psychology to forge a high-tech private army.
Taking up the moniker The Arkham Knight, he returned to Gotham to systematically break Batman, wearing a militarized suit featuring a blue digital visor that mocked the Bat-symbol.
4. Confrontation and Redemption: Red Hood Awakens
During the climax of Batman: Arkham Knight, Batman unmasks the Arkham Knight, discovering the truth about his fallen partner. Rather than destroying Bruce, Jason breaks down when forced to confront the reality that Bruce truly mourned him and never stopped blaming himself.
After abandoning his Arkham Knight identity, Jason returns during the game’s final battle to save Batman’s life from Scarecrow, shooting Scarecrow’s hand and severing the restraints holding Bruce.
Having freed himself from both the Joker’s trauma and his vendetta against Batman, Jason repaints his tactical armor with a striking red Bat-insignia, dons a sleek crimson helmet, and adopts the mantle of Red Hood. Operating as an unapologetic, lethally armed vigilante, he protects Gotham by executing criminals who cross his path.
